Posted on

Say that we want to focus on Emails that are important to us and matter the most. What do have to do in order to accomplish that. That is where Outlook 365 appears, and the Focused Inbox feature appears. What does it do? It separates our Inbox into two tabs. The Focused and the Other tab. All the emails that mean the most to us are on the Focused tab, while the rest remain in the Other tab. If you want to find out more about the Focused Inbox just keep on reading.

We must select the View tab and then from the area of the ribbon named Focused Inbox, we notice above that the Show Focused Inbox command is activated as shown in the image below. Once activated, our Mailbox is separated by two different tabs which are the following and we can see below:

Focused tab and Other tab.

  • Our most important emails are located on the Focused tab.
  • All the rest email remain on the Other tab.

Both tabs are easily accessible. All we need to do is to click on the tab that we want, and we will see the emails that are located in there.

If we want to move one email from the Other tab, to the Focused tab, we must select it and do a right click on it. Once we do the right click, the shortcut menu appears as shown below, where we must select the command Move To Focused. This will move the selected message for this time only.

If we want a particular message and all future messages from the Sender to be delivered to the Focused tab, we must select it again from the Other tab and do a right click on it, and from the drop-down menu that appears we select the command Always Move To Focused.

In the image below, I have selected the View tab, and from the area of the ribbon named Focused Inbox, we notice that the Show Focused Inbox command is activated. Finally, in our Mailbox, we notice the Focused tab that is also activated and all the Mails that are in there. If we want to turn of the Focused tab, all we need to do is to select the Show Focused Inbox command in order for it to be deactivated.
