Inserting the Date and the Time in a PowerPoint Presentation is a simple and easy procedure. When we add the Date and Time, all the Slides will be included, even the Slides that are Hidden. The Date and the Time are standard Footer elements. Meaning that the Date & Time will appear on all the Slides on our Presentation, just by clicking the Apply To All button. To find out how to Add The Date and Time in a PowerPoint Presentation just keep on reading.
We must select the Insert tab and then locate the area of the ribbon from the right named Text as shown in the image below. Once located, we move our mouse on top of the icon named Date & Time as we can see below. Here we are notified that we can Quickly Add The Current Date Or Time.
Once the Date & Time command is selected, the Header & Footer dialog box appears as shown in the image below. In this dialog box we have the following options:
Date And Time: We have to activate the check box at the left, so all the other options get activated.
Update Automatically: From the drop-down menu that appears we can select the sort of Format that we want our Date and Time to appear in our Presentation. Update Automatically, means that every time we open the Presentation, the Date and Time will be updated automatically according to the moment we open it.
Language: From the drop-down menu, all the Languages that we have installed appear there. Depending in which Language we want the Date & Time to appear, we select the corresponding Language.
Fixed: If we activate the check box at the left of the command, the text box below gets activated where we type on our own how we want the Date or Time to appear.
Once we have selected the Format of the Date and Time that we want to appear, at the bottom right corner of the Header and Footer command, we either select Apply for the Date and Time to be inserted at the current Slide, or Apply All for the Date and Time to be inserted in all the Slides in our Presentation.
In the image below, I have activated the Update Automatically command, and then right below I have selected the drop-down menu, where we can see all the different sort of Formats that we have for our Date and Time to appear in our Presentation.
In the image below, we can see the Date that we have inserted in our Presentation. The Date and Time appears at the right of our Slide, which is contained in a Placeholder where we can move around in our Slide.
